Welcome back for 2022

The first two weeks of classes have been hot but it has been great to see so many smiling kids back in the gym. To help make sure your child gets off to a great start here are some tips and needs to know info.

Arriving at Gym

  • Parking at the gym can get busy. We have gaps between classes to allow the carpark to empty out before the next class. When the car parks are full on-street parking can be found in Roberts Road (out the front of the gym and on the bend heading down the hill) and Knighton Avenue.

  • Due to the current covid settings, your child will not be admitted to the waiting area any more than 5 minutes before class begins. Factor this in to your arrival time.

  • When you arrive at the gym you need to check-in with your child using the Services Victoria App. Staff will greet your child at the door and show them where to go.

  • Children should bring a full water bottle with them.

  • You can then either "Drop and Go" or observe from outside.

  • Staff will show your child put their shoes and socks in one of the cubbies provided.

  • Children are encouraged to use the toilets before class.

  • When it is time for your child’s class to start our coaches will escort the children from the waiting area into the gym.

Children should be dressed ready for Gym:

  • Girls need to be in a leotard. It can be any colour or style. For gymnastics leotards with skirts or tutus are NOT appropriate. Crop top are not permitted.

  • Bike shorts / leggings can be worn with the leotard if the child prefers.

  • Boys need to wear gym shorts (stretchy, above the knee) and a tight-fitting t-shirt or singlet.

  • For Ninja Classes the boys should be wearing their Ninja uniform which consists on a Ninja t-shirt, Ninja head band and grip socks.

  • For Trampoline classes all children need to bring along a CLEAN pair of socks to put on at the start of class

FOR ALL CLASSES

  • Long hair must be tied up.

  • No jewellery, earrings, watches, fitness trackers.

  • Clean hands, feet and faces to help keep the equipment clean.

  • Children aged 8 and above must wear a facemask.

Going into class

  • There will be 4-6 classes starting in each building at the same time.

  • All of the children will participate in warm-up activities together, before splitting up into their classes. The class roll will be taken after the warm-up activities.

  • Children with allergies or asthma need to have their medication with them, clearly labelled and with a management plan. This needs to be given to the coach when your child goes into the gym and should be collected from your child’s coach at home time.

After Class

  • At the end of class, the coaches will bring the gymnasts back out through the gate ready for you to collect them from outside.

  • Please ensure you are back at the gym ready to receive them.

  • Beginner classes run for 55-minutes.

If you have any questions during your time with us, please feel free to check in with the front desk or our General Gym Department Leaders Megs.
